Amantha Tsaros is a painter running from her secret past as an illustrator. She studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City where she received her BFA and MFA. Her illustrations have appeared in fun and funky periodicals such as Seattle's The Stranger adn in more notable publications such as Esquire Magazine and The New York Times Review of Books and The North American Review.
Amantha has been an artistic nomad moving from relief printmaking to watercolor to etching. She spent two years in Hamburg, Germany where she wrangled her way into an etching studio using her limited German. She worked and exhibited her prints with the art group Alles Wird Schoen. Her move back to the United States brought an artistic move into painting.
Her recent works have focused on abstracted florals and landscapes and have been even inspired by cakes and recipes. She has exhibited her paintings at the Cary Memorial Library, The Massachusetts State House and in many local and national juried exhibits.
Amantha is currently developing a series based on the theme of redemption.
